OK, people, here's a very premature first look at my edition of Audubon's 1826 journal. I finally completed all its parts--for the first time--yesterday, July 30, 2009, at 7:20 p.m. I really have done this in a relatively short period of time, for academic work, only 13 or 14 months, but I've worked so intensely that it seems like a much longer time. Anyway, today--the day after--I'm leading quite the life of Riley.All the checking, proofreading, arranging of computer files, paginating, and printing out is yet to be done, but I do like seeing it all in one place all at the same time. If the west wind prevails, it should be in print in the fall of next year, say November 2010, exactly three years after Early American Nature Writers appeared.
